If the grass on the other side is greener, it's probably because you lack the essential lawn care tools. You need to have the right tools to handle different lawn care needs such as edging, watering, and fertilizing. With the right tools, you can maintain your lawn without spending too much money on lawn care services.

You do not need technology-packed tools that cost an arm and a leg to transform your lawn. Simple landscaping tools, combined with the right skills, are all you need to create your own lush lawn. Take a closer look at a few must have lawn care tools.

1. Lawn Mower

A quality lawnmower is one of the most essential lawn maintenance tools, and for good reasons. A lawnmower allows you to maintain the length of your grass while eliminating weeds and dandelions that try to stick up out of your lawn. This gadget comes in handy when you cut grass in a large yard. Lawnmowers require little time and effort to complete the task without compromising quality.

Although a lawnmower may be the most expensive lawn care tool you can buy, it's worth every penny. Consider a mulching mower to reduce your workload. A mulching mower cuts the grass into tiny, fine bits and drops them on the

lawn as you mow.

These fine pieces of grass help fertilize the lawn and save you fertilizer money and the effort of manually spreading the grass. For a very large yard, a gas-fueled mower will fit the bill. If you only have little grass to cut, then an electric model will suffice.

2. Sprinkler System

If you want a healthy green lawn, you can't bank on mother nature to water your lawn because sometimes it can get really dry. A sprinkler system allows you to keep your lawn hydrated as you wait for the rain. Ideally, you should feed your lawn with an average of an inch of water every week. All you need is to monitor the sprinkler's flow rate to determine the duration you should leave it on.

Alternatively, if you watered by hand or just had rain, you can stick a screwdriver up to 6 inches into the ground. If that soil layer is wet, it means the lawn is optimally hydrated. Consider manual watering and use a hose in case the soil isn't wet enough.

3. Fertilizer Spreader

If the lawn is on its death bed and you want to restore its vibrancy, there is help for you. A dog's bathroom habits and improper watering are some causes of bare spots on a lawn. Total lack of water, cold weather, and sun damage are also the usual culprits.

You can restore your dead or dying lawn using a fertilizer spreader. If environmental conditions are squeezing the life out of your lawn, fertilizer will revive it. A broadcast granular spreader is perfect for large yards. If you prefer liquid fertilizer, then a pressurized sprayer is what you need.

4. Blower

A lawn provides the perfect spot for a picnic or an outdoor grill session with your friends or family. Unfortunately, a lawn that's littered with paper, plastic bags, and leaves are not the best for outdoor activities. You don't have to handpick the waste. A blower generates sufficient airpower that allows you to blow all the waste into your desired direction.

Most blowers are electric and soundproof blowers and quite easy to use. Some blower designs handle light waste such as leaves and paper, while others are built with more firepower to handle heavy waste from the lawn. Choose one

according to your needs.

Now you know the tools you need to build a beautiful lawn that will leave your neighbor's green with envy. If you need further guidance on how to maintain your lawn, contact Novasack Turf Farms today.
